Mission
The Faculty Senate By-Laws (9/30/10) include the following section on publication:
V. Publication
- Content. The Senate shall regularly distribute a newsletter summarizing actions and considerations of the Senate and Senate committees and other information of general interest. It may include administrative plans, faculty concerns, position papers, minutes, letters, essays or other newsworthy items.
- Distribution. The newsletter shall be sent to all members of the faculty electorate, as defined in the Constitution, II.B., and to all members of the Board of Trustees.
The Faculty Forum blog will serve this newsletter function, and all content is available to faculty and members of the Board of Trustees through a link on the Faculty Senate web page and RSS Feed.
Submissions
All faculty members at the university of Denver are invited to submit position papers, letters, essays, or news items of interest to the DU faculty. We encourage clear and concise writing with embedded links to cite sources and direct readers to additional support, examples, and suggested readings. Please email queries or drafts to the Faculty Forum Editor, Jennifer Campbell. Posted articles represent the views of the author and do not represent the views of the Faculty Senate or the University of Denver or its administrators.
Members of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee can post senate-related items including announcements and reminders, minutes, and invitations to Senate events.
Comments
We invite discussion of all posted content through the comment feature available for each entry. To post a comment, simply click on the link below the post that displays the number of current comments. After you type your comment in the text box, you can preview it; this is a good idea because there is currently no option for editing comments. You can, however, delete any comment you have posted by clicking on the trash can to the right of your post in the comments list.
We ask that you only post comments related to the topic at hand. If a conversation takes an interesting direction, we may ask respondents to generate new posts to explore related issues. While the Forum encourages faculty to share provocative ideas and differences of opinion, we ask all respondents to maintain a civil tone and appropriate language. The editor reserves the right to 1) ask respondents to edit their comments, or 2) delete comments that may be deemed inappropriate or wildly off topic. We will also delete any spam comments to maintain the integrity of our online community.
